Where are you from and where do you work (city, studio, or home studio)?
Hello I am Yannick Puig, I am from south of france, so I am french, but I live in Spain since 4 years now.
I actually work at home like freelance, but still traveling for work in Spain and France.
When did you first become interested in animation?
I remember I was really impressed by some animation series in my childhood. Japanese animations, I remember Dragonball, Saint Seiya, Hokuto no Ken, Astroboy, Dr Slump. Looney Tunes, and american cartoons too. I think, Sega Videogames was a great source of inspiration too.
And I think all that series then influenced me to become interested in drawing some smalls animated cartoons in the corner of my school’s books.
What do you like about animation?
I remember, since I have 10 years, I was very interested in drawing some new worlds and telling stories. And I made some projects of dreamy comics I never finished. One day I say the festival “Imagina” in tv (pionneer 3d festival animation in france) and I was very impressed by 3D. But in the second year of fine-arts, I decide to study the 3dsmax books, and use the video materials to make some animations. It was a revelation for me, and I realized that animation is the perfect technic to telling stories.
How did you get started in animation? Did you have any kind of formal training?
I studied 3d basicaly in autodidact, with the books of 3dsmax at first. and continue in a short program at the Idem school.
What techniques did you like using in your animation?
In the past I learned a lot of different animation technics, workflows, and softwares to dominate all the entire process of CG animation. It give me the posibility to make shortfilms with a team, or by my own means, within technical limits. So it trainned me to a high generalist artist skills. So I don’t have special, or prefered techniques, but I like when the work is done quickly. I like mixing 2D and 3D, it’s the best way for me to work.
What attracted you to the Nothing is Impossible Challenge?
The possibility to be in contact with this great agency Saatchi & Saatchi. I was very closed to work with us for a project in the past, but that’s never concluded.
It’s a great opportunity for me to collaborate with a big structure agency, it’s very exciting!
What’s your favorite holiday?
Taveling in some countries totally disconnected to phone and internet.
What is your ultimate dream?
I don’t remember my ultimate dream, but now I often dream about my baby walking and talking.

Your blog is pretty interesting to me and your subject matter is very relevant. I was browsing around and came across something you might find interesting. I was guilty of 3 of them with my sites. “99% of website owners are doing these five HUGE errors”. http://tinyurl.com/dxoyke8 You will be suprised how easy they are to fix.
